The Xsara WRC triumphs in Trier.
One year after its victory in Trier, the Xsara WRC driven by Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena recorded another win in the old roman city. Sébastien and Daniel stood on the highest step of the podium today in the centre of the city.
After a close and exciting battle with their "cousins" Séb' and Daniel obtained their first World Rally Championship win, unlike the one which slipped out of their hands in Monaco.
In Germany, the young Citroën crew beat Richard Burns and Marcus Grönholm, the former and current World Champions, who attacked 100% throughout the rally and tried to catch up with the Xsara.

It's a great feeling because this rally is close to my home, and all my friends were here. To be honest, I haven't realised what's happening yet but one thing I am sure of is that we have a fantastic car and a fantastic team. No doubt we will win other rallies..."
"It was a never ending day !" said team boss Guy Fréquelin. "I could not wish for anything more : we stand at the best competitors' level and we have reached our target for this year, a WRC win. Sébastien and Daniel performed extremely well, and they also demonstrated their excellent self-control. This confirms a very promising future..."
