Dani Sordo: "My confidence is back after testing..."

After a fantastic second position in Germany, the young Spanish driver has gone through the most difficult time of his young career. Thanks to some tests undergone with Citroen Sport's development team, Dani feels his confidence is coming back...

What have been doing since the Cyprus Rally?

"On the Monday I flew home and spent two days in Santander. On Wednesday night, we went to Paris to attend to the Paris motorshow press days. On Thursday morning, we were present on Citroen's stand but unfortunately without Sebastien... During two days, we have met quite a lot of journalists. Then I went back home for the weekend and I left again on Tuesday late afternoon for some tests. They were taking place in the area of Newcastle and we drove the C4 WRC during two days. It was just great! On Saturday, I will go and watch a Spanish championship rally the `Villa de Llanes' just next door to home. And on Sunday, Turkey!"

For the first time in your career, you've experienced three unfortunate rallies. How are you?

"Ok Ok! I think I need to look ahead! It's clear that the three last events have been really difficult. In Finland, this off, then in Japan our mistake with our seatbelts not fasten properly and last Cyprus... Really, I still can't explain myself what happened and what had gone through my mind. I hope everything is going back to normal. I feared it would have been weird to go back behind the wheel in Turkey, but fortunately two days testing with Citroen Sport really helped. I feel much better and with more confidence."

What do you know about the Turkish stages that you will discover? How do you prepare for this rally?

"Yes this event is also new to me. What I know from Marc [Marti] and the other drivers is that it's faster and nicer than Cyprus, so surely more enjoyable on a driving point of view. I spoke a lot with Matthieu Bassou, our car engineer and with Michel Ducher, the BFGoodrich technician who works with us. They know the Turkish stages and for me it's a great help. Thanks to their experience, we have tried to do a good job in selecting our tyre package. Regarding my result... I must finish the rally without any scratch on the car..."
