Guessing game at OMV CEE Rally Team

* Natalie Barratt/Dale Moscatt wrestle with sudden engine cutouts
* Faster than superstar Rossi on the first special stage

On the first day of the "Propecia Rally New Zealand" Natalie Barratt experienced all highs and lows of this sport. Following an engine cutout during the second special stage even Stohl Racing is in a commotion. Currently the OMV CEE Rally Team lies in eleventh place in the FIA Production Car World Rally Championship following five of 17 special stages.

A big disappointment

The day had started off so well for the OMV CEE Rally Team. Natalie Barratt gave a very good performance on the first special stage and was even faster than motorbike-superstar Valentino Rossi in the Subaru WRC. But the fun was over already on the second SS. Suddenly the engine of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX stalled. There was no way to get the car started again. It lasted for over five minutes - when, for incomprehensible reasons, it was equally suddenly possible to go on again. Barratt: "We don't know why we stopped. Just as we don't know why we were able to drive on again. I am very disappointed for we had great expectations for New Zealand and were well prepared. Now it will only be possible to score points if several drivers in front of us drop out." The service crew of Stohl Racing is still doing a guessing game. "At the moment we are baffled. But we will check everything at the service so that it won't happen again ", explains OMV CEE Team Manager Günther Aschacher.
