It has been an absolutely exciting weekend here in France, and it ended with another podium for Petter and Chris. With their third place, they secured another perfect rally for Citroen, with three Citroen C4 on the podium.
Petter started the third day in France in third position, 10 seconds ahead of Latvala who where fourth. Four stages were planned for the final day, and Petter started with being fastest on the first one. On the second he had an off, and lost time. Latvala where running behind him, and all in the PSWRT were holding their breath waiting for him to finish, but Petter managed to stay ahead. The third stage of the day was cancelled. On the final stage of the rally, which was also broadcasted live, Petter ended third.
- I am really happy about the result this weekend, says Petter Solberg. - We didn't get to test on muddy conditions before the rally, so it took us some time to figure out the perfect set up. But on Saturday evening we found it, and from then we have been on the pace. It feels quite good to be here on the podium today, together with the two Citroen drivers, and I have really enjoyed the fight this weekend. Have to admit that I thought Latvala would catch up on us, when we went off and lost some time on the second stage today, but luckily he didn't.
Sebastien Loeb won Rallye de France, and by that he also secured his 7th overall win in the Drivers Championship. Dani Sordo ended second, while Petter took 15 more points in the championship with their third place, and is fourth. Yvan Muller, PSWRT guestdriver, ended 42nd.
Next event is Rally Spain, 22 - 24 October. This is another tarmac event, but it also includes gravel stages on the Friday.
