Gilles Panizzi is for nothing in his withdrawal from the event.

Gilles Panizzi will finally not take part in the forthcoming Rally Australia. As has been the case for all non-European gravel rounds in 2002, he was scheduled to drive the car used for pre-event testing by the other three Peugeot Sport drivers during the week preceding the start, the car being rebuilt after the tests in time for the rally.

Unfortunately, Richard Burns destroyed the test 206 WRC when he left the road during last Thursday afternoon's session (October 24th). This means that Gilles Panizzi will not have a car available for next week's event, although he will stay on in Australia in order to recce the route.

His final appearance of 2002 will therefore be the Rally of Great Britain where he will drive a Bozian Racing-prepared car of the same specification as the 206 WRCs entered for Juuso Pykälistö and Valentino Rossi.
