A disappointing end to Rally Jordan for Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson.
Third fastest on the first three stages of the day, Petter and Chris made a good start, pushing hard despite damaging the rear right wheel on SS15. Sebastien Loeb won the next stage, SS16, with third place Petter setting the same time as Sebastien Ogier to follow Jari-Matti Latvala’s second position.
SS17, the first stage of the afternoon was unfortunately to be the last for Petter and Chris - About 2kms into the stage, we had a major spin and just went off the road and got stuck, says Petter Solberg. - There were some really big rocks there, and we were not able to get the car back on the stage and continue. There is no damage on the car and we are both OK.
Sebastien Ogier was the winner of Rally Jordan and he also took maximum bonus points from the Power Stage. Jari-Matti Latvala took second place in the rally followed by Ogier’s team-mate Sebastien Loeb.
- I am so disappointed right now, says Petter Solberg. – I was hoping for a podium finish here in Jordan but that’s how it is. Now we just have to look forward to the next event and the rest of the season. The car has worked perfectly both days, and I’m also happy about the new tyres supplied by Michelin.
The next event is Rally d’Italia Sardegna 5th - 8th May 2011
