SS1 and 2
Kris Meeke/Chris Patterson :
Slow puncture at the front left at the end of stage 1. On stage two, use of the two spare tyres (hard compound). Kris : " The slow puncture at the front left happened at the end of the stage and we didn't loose too much time. But the soft compound tyres overheated on the next stage and we will try to modify the set-up accordingly. We drove at a good but cautious pace and we've enjoyed the loop."
Daniel Sordo/Marc Marti : Loss of front brakes at the very start of the first stage (leak on the brake circuit at the front left). Crew tempted to repair in between the two stages, they added some liquid and checked in two minutes late with a result of 20 seconds penalty. Stage 2 at a cautious pace.
K. Meeke :
"We've modified our set-up to take into account the fact that our rear tyres overheat too much when we are on a soft compound. I have a good feeling with the car and we are very close from the perfect balance. I still drive cautiously and wish to fine tune the settings".
D. Sordo, fastest time of the 'Juniors', first fastest time of the C2 S1600 in JWRC.
" I am really happy with my fastest time in the Junior's. What's also interesting is that we posted that time without taking any risks. With our delay now, the deal is to finish the rally, try to catch up with some competitors and see what will happen in front of us"
K. Meeke :
"We are still concentrating on getting the optimum set-up. We have to find the right balance in between the tyres and the chassis. On my side, I'm trying to be regular and consistent and not to make any mistakes."
M. Marti :
"We set the second fastest time. It's really good if you take into account that we drove through the stage mostly in the dark as we started much later than the front runners"
