The Clocaenog Forest played host with a 3.3 km stage.
Andreas Mikkelsen took home the top time during Thursday’s Wales Rally Great Britain 3.3 km shakedown stage.
The Volkswagen Polo R driver led a trio of the marque home, with World Champion Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala a little over a quarter second back.
Almost a full tenth off of Mikkelsen’s pace was former F1 ace Robert Kubica in his Ford Fiesta RS. Kubica was followed on the charts by Ott Tanak, Kris Meeke, Elfyn Evans, Mikko Hirvonen, Hayden Paddon and Mads Ostberg.
One notable incident on the day was Hennig Solberg, who found way to damage the front end of his Ford Fiesta RS in a crash on his first outing. The car continued and would be repaired after the shakedown.
