Three-time Argentine champion Marcos Ligato will pilot a Citroen DS3 WRC in his home rally.
Ligato's entry will be assisted by Citroen semi-factory squad PH Sport, which in 2016 runs DS3 WRC machinery for the Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team on a part-time schedule.
The DS3 took its first WRC win in two years in the 2015 Rally Argentina at the hands of Citroen factory driver Kris Meeke.
This year's event, meanwhile, will mark the Ligato's return to WRC, his previous appearance a WRC2 outing in Portugal back in 2013.
Among the Argentine's previous accolades are finishing runner-up to Benito Guerra in the 2012 PWRC campaign and taking three national titles - in 2004 with a Subaru Impreza STi and in 2014-15 with a Chevrolet Agile.
"It will be a very important chance both for myself and Ruben [Garcia, co-driver]," said Ligato.
"The car is the most recent winner of the rally and always runs well on the roads of Cordoba, so we're very excited."
Citroen's best result in WRC 2016 so far is Stephane Lefebvre's fifth place in Monte Carlo, albeit Kris Meeke fought for the podium in both that rally and Rally Sweden, only to be denied by two freak retirements.
