As usual on this Bernie-David Richards era, there will be only 4 drivers with a chance of winning: the 2 Subarus, Makinen and Sainz (maybe the home factor will compensate the Cosworth's lack of power).
Schwarz, Nittel and Madeira are just paying drivers. With Schwarz the interesting thing will be to guess in which stage he will have a small crash and decide to slow down to reach the end (it has happened in all the 4 previous rallies). Madeira and Nittel have a 1996 car, although it is possible that Madeira tries to shine a little.
Toyota is absent. Maybe in Corsega ?
In F2 there will probably happen a good fight:

We have here several official teams: - 2 official Peugeot teams, Spain and France. Portugal is not present, because they could not make a deal with Renault to not participate in a Portuguese Rally, April 19th. - Citroen Spain - Renault Spain - Seat Sport, with 3 cars. - Skoda
I think the French Peugeots are favorites, although the Spanish drivers have probably a better knowledge of the stages.
As usual the Group N will be a Mitsubishi affair (the only official team in group N): 24 Gustavo TRELLES ROU Jorge DEL BUONO RA MITSUBISHI L Evo3 N 4 25 Manfred STOHL A Peter M\LLER A MITSUBISHI L Evo3 N 4
The total number of cars entering it is 99 (coincidentaly, the same as in Portugal), which includes a large number of Renault Clio Williams, Peugeot 106 Rally and Fiat Cinquecento Sport (I suppose most of these are part of monobrand trophies).
Th rally is from 14/4 to 16/4, and the official page http://www.racc.es/rallye/rallye.htm will have results on-line.
