PENNZOIL WORLD OF OULAWS ATTACK BLOOMINGTON OVAL WEDNESDAY NIGHT
KINSERS BRING SMOKING GUN TO OUTLAW SHOOTOUT
BLOOMINGTON, IN (April 12, 1999) - The hottest gun on the Pennzoil World of Outlaw's tour at the moment is Oolitic's Mark Kinser. With his weekend win at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA, Mark has racked up three "A" main feature victories and two "preliminary" wins in just 13 Outlaw events this spring. And he has lead nearly three times more laps than any other driver on the tour. And as the Pennzoil World of Outlaws tow into Bloomington Speedway for Wednesday night's shootout, Karl Kinser's MOPAR-powered sprinter is smoking!
Yet, even though Mark has three more race wins, Bloomington's Steve Kinser sits atop the Outlaw's point standings. The "King of the Outlaws" is fourteen points ahead of Danny Lasoski, who is just one in front of Mark. Steve has accomplished this by keeping his Quaker State Maxim consistently close to the front. For example, Steve has finished in the top-ten in each of the eight "A" features competed. But when Mark was involved in accidents in two of those races, it hurt his overall point total.
Second in points, Lasoski has garnered two "A" feature wins, and one preliminary. But, showing the power behind the Beef Packers' car, "The Dude" has been the fast qualifier twice as often as anyone else.
The Kinser cousins and Lasoski head the Pennzoil World of Outlaws contingent into Bloomington for 40-laps of hard, fast racing. They will be challenged by Sammy and Jeff Swindell, phenomenal youngster Tyler Walker, Donny Schatz, Johnny Herrera and Stevie Smith. This oval isn't a parade ground, the racing is always hub-to-hub close and action-filled on the red clay quarter-mile. The winner's share of the $45,615 purse has been increased to $8,000 for this event.
The Pennzoil World Of Outlaws series will be supported by the WalMart Tire and Lube Express Street Stocks, racing for $500 to win.
All gates open at 3:00 on Wednesday, April 14. General admission is $25, there is no reserved seating. Fans age 6 to 12 are $5 with an adult, and under 6 are free. Pit admission is $30. Tickets are available for the 19th Annual Outlaw Steak Fry, call 812-824-7400 for information.
