LAS VEGAS - Pennzoil World of Outlaws drivers Danny Lasoski, Donny Schatz and Darryn Pittman had a very successful test Wednesday night on the new surface at Las Vegas Motor Speedway's half-mile dirt oval.

"It's millions and millions better," Lasoski said. "This
track is awesome. I know everyone here has worked hard, and it shows."

Track conditions forced the cancellation of one night of last October's event.

"The track is going to hold up great, and it's so smooth it's like driving on pavement," Lasoski said. "They obviously went above the call of duty. Last fall was a bad deal, but we all learned from it. I really hope all the fans come out again, because we're here to put on a great race for them."

The J.D. Byrider World of Outlaws Challenge is scheduled for Thursday, March 1 through Saturday, March 3.

"We've put a lot of work in over the past few months to make this track one of the best on the circuit," said Chris Powell, LVMS' executive vice president and general manager. "We have a history of putting on great events here, and we expect the J.D. Byrider Challenge to be one of the best ever."
