Quote Log.

Lasoski on keeping Steve Kinser in sight and the upcoming Eagle Nationals:

"Steve won a lot this past week, but we were never too far behind him. Consistency is such a big thing in this series, so if you can't win, you've got to finish well, and we did that for the most part. Obviously, winning is why we're here, but you can't win 'em all.

"I'm not even paying attention to the points, to be honest. There's still such a long way to go. We know what we need to do - win races and run strong. Paul Kistler has been building some awesome motors for us - 16 fast times prove that. With what he's giving us and the work that Jimmy and the crew are putting into this J.D. Byrider/Home Depot/Mopar team, it allows me to go into every race with a lot of confidence.

"We've got another big race this weekend with the Eagle Nationals. The fans love their sprint car racing out there, and we plan on putting on another good show for them."

Team Owner Tony Stewart on Lasoski's point race with Steve Kinser:

"It's no pressure for me. I don't drive the cars. The only pressure for me as a car owner is making sure that I give the team the equipment they need to do their jobs properly. Their situation is fairly similar to mine. They run over 100 races a year and there are a lot of variables that are out of their control each week. So, the biggest thing for me is controlling the variables that I can control, and that means giving the team everything they need so that they can go out and do their job to the best of their ability. As long as I do that, it's up to Danny, Jimmy Carr (crew chief), the guys on the crew, and of course, a little bit of luck."

Nuts and Bolts.

Lasoski finished 10th in the IROC race held April 5 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. He is now tied for sixth in points with Sam Hornish of the Indy Racing League and Kevin Harvick of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. All three drivers trail point leader Kurt Busch by 24 points with two events remaining - July 12 at Chicagoland Speedway and August 2 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Lasoski runs an Eagle chassis in the World of Outlaws with horsepower supplied by Paul Kistler-built Mopar engines.
