Quote Log - Lasoski.
How big of a race is the Harvest Classic?
"It's a three-day event and it's probably the biggest one on the West Coast excluding the Gold Cup we have at Chico (Calif., Sept. 4-6). It's the only half-mile that's out here and we love coming here. We won it a couple of years ago, and it's right in the heart of wine country."
Calistoga is another semi-banked half-mile - the type of track where you seem to excel. Is there any reason for that?
"We always look forward to going to Calistoga. Out in California the tracks are mostly all bullrings, and when you get here you really try to be on the front row at the start of these things because there's usually not a lot of passing going on. But if the race track is prepared right, you can see a lot of passing. I guess we'll find out when we get there, but either way we're going to work hard to get on that front row."
With the points race being as tight as it is, are you paying attention to the points or are you just taking the remainder of the schedule race by race?
"I'd be lying if I said we weren't looking at the points, because we're definitely looking at them. But the bottom line is that when we unload that race car, it's all about winning. When we win the points are going to be there, and we'll see how it all shakes out at the end of the year."
Quote Log - Team Owner Tony Stewart.
You enjoyed a big win with Danny at the Knoxville Nationals. Is another big win in store at the Harvest Classic?
"Danny's certainly proven that he can do it. He's won that race before and I know that winning the Knoxville Nationals two weeks ago didn't hurt him any. Danny and the team are strong. The communication he and Jimmy Carr (crew chief) have is phenomenal. They know each other really well, and Jimmy knows what Danny's looking for in the race car. Every time they unload they're there to win, and this weekend is no different."
