Nashville Network to Televise Manzanita Event PLANO, TX (July 15) - Less than two weeks after signing a joint venture with the series, TNN: The Nashville Network announced Monday that it will televise the World of Outlaws' October 26th sprint car race live from Manzanita Speedway. "We're very pleased that TNN has decided to televise another one of our races," World of Outlaws Founder and President Ted Johnson said. "Manzanita is a good facility to air a race from, so I'm sure we'll give the fans a good show." The announcement comes within a week of TNN's live telecast of the King's Royal from Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH. The event, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, features a $50,000 main event that will be televised live on TNN between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., eastern time. TNN, which aired live television coverage of the World of Outlaws' May 25th races from Williams Grove Speedway, is also scheduled to televise the Amoco Knoxville Nationals' championship feature live from Knoxville Raceway August 17th. The World of Outlaws, which last raced at Manzanita in 1991, joined TNN at the semi-banked, 1/2-mile oval for the Slick Car World Series in 1992. All 10 races in the series were televised live on The Nashville Network. The World of Outlaws, ran nine events at Manzanita between 1978 and 1991, sanctioning the prestigious Western World Classic in 1978, 1979 and 1987. WoO
