'TK' Extends World of Outlaws Top-10 Streak
ROSSBURG, OH (April 11) -- Tim Kaeding extended his streak of top-10 finishes in World of Outlaws "A" Features to four Friday when he drove Tom Rolfe Racing's #10 J.F. McCray Plastering Maxim past eight cars at Eldora Speedway.
"TK," who ranked seventh in the World of Outlaws point standings after racing into seventh place and 10th place twice in the 37th Annual Alltel DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in February, finished 10th again Friday.
Kaeding passed Phil Gressman and Brian Paulus during the opening lap, only to lose those positions two laps later. He got by Randy Hannagan during the fifth lap and held off his former boss, "King of the Outlaws" Steve Kinser, before racing past Danny Lasoski for 14th during lap 12. "TK" kept Tom Rolfe Racing's #10 J.F. McCray Plastering Maxim out of the trouble as other cars dropped out during the second half of the 30-lap main event. Kaeding's fastest lap was the fifth lap when he averaged 121 MPH.
"TK" was the 18th-fastest qualifier in the 30-car field, just .459 seconds off fast-qualifier Donny Schatz's pace. He qualified for the ninth row outside starting position in the main event by finishing sixth in the Third Heat Race.
Inclement weather forced the World of Outlaws to cancel Saturday's race at "The World's Fastest Half-Mile."
Tom Rolfe Racing will be back in action with the World of Outlaws Saturday when Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN opens its 51st season of racing.
