Shane Stewart rides top ten WoO streak into TMS as Express Transit joins #4m Team.
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (March 26, 2003) - Tulsa's Shane Stewart rides a streak of seven consecutive top ten finishes in World of Outlaws main events into this weekends doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway's dirt track in Ft. Worth. Express Transit of Bixby, OK, has also joined the Scott Chilcutt-owned team as an associate sponsor for the remainder of the season.
Shane drove to a strong fourth place finish in this past Saturday night's World of Outlaws main event at Houston Raceway Park aboard the Wesmar-powered MCI chassis, extending his string of top ten finishes in WoO action. Shane is tied with point leader Danny Lasoski and third-ranked Craig Dollansky atop the top ten finish chart in World of Outlaws main event action with seven top tens.
Since not qualifying for the season opening event at King's Speedway in Hanford, CA, Shane has reeled off top ten showings at Perris (CA) Auto Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway (where Shane also established a new one lap track record in qualifying), Hollywood Hills Speedway, Oklahoma City's State Fair Speedway, Devil's Bowl Speedway, Pike County Speedway and Houston.
The streak of consistent top finishes has elevated Shane and the Rob Hart and Cathy Barrows-led team into eighth in World of Outlaws points. They hope to continue to climb the charts this upcoming weekend as they compete in WoO action atop Texas Motor Speedway's 4/10 mile banked clay oval.
