World of Outlaws to Impose Stricter Regulations PLANO, TX (February 21) - In an effort to maintain its already high safety standards and curb rising costs, the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series will institute stricter rules that will become effective in 1998. World of Outlaws officials are conducting a comprehensive study into the sprint cars racing with its nationwide series with input from chassis manufacturers and car owners. The additional regulations will be announced by the end of April and added to the World of Outlaws' rule book next year, series President Ted Johnson announced Friday. The new restrictions will make racing with the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series more cost-efficient while making the cars stronger and safer. These rules should make it unnecessary for the series to initiate a mandatory weight rule. WoO
