LAKE PERRIS, CA (February 25) -- Shane Stewart and the MIN Motorports team had every intention of racing in last weekend's Inaugural Cactus Classic event at Manzanita Speedway. The untimely passing of Pat Hart, mother of Crew Chief Rob Hart, caused the team to change its plans, however.

"While we were both disappointed, Shane and I agreed that nothing was more important than Rob being with his family last weekend," Car Owner Scott Chilcutt said.

After recently returning to her Albany, NY, home following her 60th straight Florida Speedweeks, Mrs. Hart became ill and passed away February 18th. Mrs. Hart is survived by her husband, Bob, and children Mitzi, Rick, Rob and Misti. Mrs. Hart was the matriarch of a strong family of racers, as she, her husband, two sons and a daughter raced cars.

Stewart will drive the #4M MIN Motorsports Maxim in Saturday's World of Outlaws Sprint Series event at Perris Auto Speedway. Stewart, the runner-up in the World of Outlaws Gumout Series point standings in 2001 and 2002, won World of Outlaws Sprint Series Preliminary Features at the Talladega Short Track and Devil's Bowl Speedway in October of 2001.
