The Chase Continues for Shane & Team Rudeen

from Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports, OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (May 5, 2005) -- After the team's first test-and-tune World of Outlaws session of the season at Knoxville Raceway, Shane Stewart and the Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports No. 26 Sprint Car team move on to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO, on Friday night and Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, IL, on Saturday, then on to Tri-State Speedway near Ft. Smith on Monday.

After missing Friday night's feature event, Shane salvaged the weekend aboard the Wesmar-powered No. 26 Maxim by posting a 13th place finish in Saturday's finale at Knoxville against a field of nearly 60 entries.

Shane and the HRP Wings/Schoenfeld Headers team found themselves behind the eight ball from the outset, drawing a poor pill for Friday's qualifying session and timing in deep in the stout field.

Not willing to throw in the towel, Shane charged through the "C" Main to capture the second and final transfer position, then sliced through the "B" Feature field to claim a fifth place finish, just one position short of a transfer to the main event.

Fortunes would turn for Shane and the XYZ Machining/Car & Fleet team on Saturday night, as Shane would tour Knoxville's famed half-mile oval in 15.286 second, 11th best among the night's 52 time-trialers.

Shane locked the Brodix/Banshee Graphics machine into Saturday night's main event by taking the checkered flag second in his heat race, then held his ground in the 25-lap feature to claim a 13th place finish, maintaining a tenth-place ranking in World of Outlaws Sprint series points.

This weekend's action kicks off at Eldon, Missouri's Lake Ozark Speedway, where Shane swept the inaugural LOS ASCS 360 Nationals last September, then moves on to the half-mile Tri-State Speedway in Granite City, IL.

Monday night, the team makes its final Oklahoma appearance of 2005 when the World of Outlaws Sprint series invades Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, OK, just west of Fort Smith, AR, for the first time as the Bixby, OK, native tries to move back atop the series Rookie of the Year points chase.

Shane and the Rudeen Development team then move on to Ohio's K-C Raceway on Saturday night, May 14, before moving on to Pennsylvania for the first time this year the following weekend.
