Snap-on Inks Deal with Shane Stewart and Team Rudeen
From Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports, OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (May 19, 2005) -- Snap-on is delving into the Sprint Car racing market at an unprecedented level, as the nation's leading tool design and precision manufacturing company has joined forces with World of Outlaws racer Shane Stewart and the Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports No. 26 Sprint Car team.
Snap-on has been extensively involved in the auto racing industry's premier levels over the years, including NASCAR, NHRA and IRL, with the impressive list of drivers under the Snap-on banner including Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Kevin Harvick, Michael Waltrip, Rusty Wallace, Ryan Newman, Martin Truex, Jr., Cruz Pedregon, Tony Pedregon, Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon and Sam Hornish, Jr.
But until now, Snap-on hasn't sponsored a major Sprint Car team. That changes now, as Bixby, Oklahoma's Shane Stewart joins the elite list of drivers under the Snap-on banner.
"We're thrilled with our new involvement with Shane Stewart and the Rudeen Development Sprint Car team," commented Snap-on spokesman Carl Johanson. "Shane is a tremendous individual and a great driver, and the entire Rudeen team is a first-class, professionally run operation. They'll fit right in with our NASCAR, NHRA and IRL teams."
According to Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorports Team Manager Scott Chilcutt, "This is a tremendous opportunity for both the Rudeen Racing team and Snap-on. Snap-on will be able to increase brand awareness throughout the Sprint Car market and we're just honored to have them as part of the Rudeen Development team."
Shane Stewart is a leading contender for Rookie of the Year honors with the World of Outlaws Sprint Series, currently ranked twelfth in points on the strength of a dozen top ten feature finishes through the series initial twenty features of the 2005 season.
"It's great to have Snap-on on board with the No. 26 team," Stewart commented. "A graphics package is already in the works for a special Snap-on themed car that should be a shoe-in for this year's Best Appearing car at the Knoxville Nationals."
