From Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports, OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (June 24, 2005) -- With two more top-ten finishes in the last three World of Outlaws Sprint Series events, Bixby, Oklahoma's Shane Stewart and the Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports No. 26 team are set for their final Knoxville Nationals tune-up with this Friday and Saturday's double at Knoxville Raceway.
With a strong fifth-place run in Wednesday night's outing at the Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia aboard the Wesmar-powered Snap-on Maxim, Shane climbed back up to tenth in the series points chase and has moved back atop the pursuit of the series' Rookie of the Year honors.
Shane kicked off this past weekend by timing in fifth in Friday's opener of the 22nd Annual Eagle Nationals at Nebraska's Eagle Raceway aboard the HRP Wings/Schoenfeld Headers/XYZ Machining entry. Stewart then concluded the evening by recording his 17th top-ten finish of the year by crossing the stripe tenth in the opening night of the Eagle Nationals. The next night, Shane posted another strong finish by wrapping up the Eagle Nationals in thirteenth.
Shane then turned in his strongest performance in several weeks on Wednesday night in Sedalia, MO. After timing in eleventh, Shane made it to the feature through a Dash then piloted the Car & Fleet/Brodix/Banshee Graphics mount to a fifth-place finish in the main event.
"We had a great car," Shane commented afterward. "A top-five is good for us. This team really needed it, and I needed it. I've had some really good runs here and one of these days we're going get a win here. All in all it was a great night for the Rudeen No. 26 and hopefully Knoxville is just as good."
Shane and the Rudeen Development team will be in action with the World of Outlaws Sprint Series at the famed Knoxville Raceway on Friday and Saturday night before moving on to Huset's Speedway in Sioux Falls, SD, on Tuesday night. From there, action continues at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND, on July 1 and 2.
