Stewart Ready to Tame Eldora's High Banks

from Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports, OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (April 6, 2005) -- While NASCAR star Tony Stewart gets set to host his first World of Outlaws event as a track owner, another Stewart is ready to reverse his recent fortunes atop the famed high banks of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH, this weekend.

That other Stewart would be none other than Bixby, Oklahoma's Shane Stewart (of no relation by the way), who continues his drive toward World of Outlaws Sprint Series Rookie of the Year honors aboard the Rudeen Racing powered by mIn Motorsports No. 26 Maxim sprint car.

Piloting the Wesmar-powered HRP Wings/Schoenfeld Headers entry, Shane enters this Friday and Saturday's double atop the high-banked, half-mile dirt oval ranked eighth in WoO points and currently holds a 115 point advantage over his closest rival, Tim Kaeding, in the Rookie points parade following a weekend of racing action in Arkansas and Missouri.

This past Friday night, Shane was one of 24 drivers to shatter the previous track record at Batesville Speedway as the World of Outlaws blistered the Arkansas clay. After timing in 16th, Shane topped his heat race then drove the XYZ Machining/Car & Fleet Auto racer to a respectable thirteenth place finish in the feature.

The following night at I-55 Speedway in Pevely, MO, Shane timed in 27th among a large field comprised of 49 entries. Forced to qualify the Brodix/Banshee Graphics for the main event through "B" Feature action, Shane then added yet another impressive passing performance to the 2005 ledger by racing from deep in the field to take the checkered flag in fourteenth.

Shane and co-crew chiefs Bob Curtis and Eric Manfrass will look to continue this season's trend of strong performances with this weekend's double atop the Eldora dirt track as the World of Outlaws season-long points chase across the country continues.

Following this weekend's action, Shane and the Rudeen Development team head to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN, on April 16, before a pair of races close to Shane's Bixby home at Muskogee's Outlaw Motor Speedway on Friday, April 22, and 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS, on Saturday night, April 23.
