World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series News & Notes
Concord, NC - January 18, 2009 - World Series Winning: Kerry Madsen, the 2007 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, was victorious in the season finale for the World Series Sprintcars at Parramatta City Raceway in Australia on Saturday night. It was his second win in as many weeks at the track. He began the night by finishing second in the fourth heat race and won the second dash to earn a front row starting spot in the 35-lap main event. Madsen will remain Down Under for a couple more weeks to compete in a number of events including the Grand Annual Classic.
Haudenschild to the Hall of Fame: Jac Haudenschild, who has 51 career A-Feature wins with the World of Outlaws, which is ninth on the all-time list and over 350 total wins over the years with a variety of series, will be inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa on May 30. He will join 20-time series champion Steve Kinser as the only active series drivers that are in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. Haudenschild, a native of Wooster, Ohio, is a three-time winner of the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway. In addition, he is a three-time winner of the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in California. He also won the Mopar Million non-wing sprint car race at the half-mile. He was also the 1991 Knoxville Raceway track champion. In his World of Outlaws career, he has finished in the Top-10 in points 14 times. A Record Setting Win: Three-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Sammy Swindell won his record setting fifth Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday night. The native of Germantown, Tennessee began the week by winning the Race of Champions on Tuesday night and followed that up with a win in the Wednesday qualifying night feature event.

The two-day event begins with the Knight Before the Kings Royal on Friday, July 17, followed by the $50,000 to-win Kings Royal on Saturday, July 18.
