Swindell Searches For New Crew Chief BARTLETT, TN (April 6) - Defending Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series champion Sammy Swindell announced Monday that Keith Lani is leaving his position as crew chief for the #1 Channellock team. Lani has decided to seek opportunities outside of sprint car racing. The Scottsdale, AZ, native was Swindell's crew chief since 1995. "Keith and I started working together in 1994 when I drove for Jeff Gilliam," Swindell said. "We developed a good rapport that year and he has been with me ever since. Keith was very instrumental in last year's championship season. But, I think at this time, he wants a challenge in another type of racing. We all wish him the very best whatever he decides to do." Swindell, a three-time World of Outlaws champion, is searching for a qualified crew chief to join his Channellock- sponsored team as the series heads to Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH, for this weekend's double-feature event. Sammy has won the last two April races at "The World's Fastest Half-Mile." WoO
