The Hurricane blows through Sharon Speedway.
(5/20/2006 Hartford, OH) Randy Hannagan has run Sharon Speedway several times however last night was the first time he ever ran the track following a helicopter. The Brown & Miller/Terry Hannagan #1x Maxim rolled out of the hauler fast and would stay that way all evening. After qualifying 13th, Hannagan would start 3rd in the fourth heat and have a solid run finishing 4th and a position in the dash. The Hurricane would come out of the dash 9th and would start the feature in 8th. From the drop of the green it was apparent that there were going to be gale force winds on the speedway from the Hurricane. Using the low line Hannagan would soon climb to 5h and use patience to climb to 4th passing Darryn Pittman and closing fast on the 4th place car.
After disposing of the 4th place car Hannagan set his sites on the leaders. Hannagan was able to get within 4 car lengths of 2nd place runner and good friend Brooke Tatnell but the checkers would fall and Hannagan would settle for a strong 3rd place finish.
"This place owed us." Said a smiling Hannagan. "I felt we should won here twice last year with the All Stars but hey a top 3 with the Outlaws fixes all that. I definitely think this is a momentum builder. We have had some strong runs this season and I know that first win is just around the corner. The crew gave me exactly what we needed for this track tonight. It would be great to get to victory lane in Charlotte in front of a packed house. One thing is for sure, it is great to get back to racing."
The Hurricane will blow into Eckerd Drugs at 5811 Prosperity Church Road in Charlotte, NC from 4 -- 6pm this Tuesday then head to the track for a Tuesday night practice.
