Open Tire Rule Opens World of Outlaws Competition To Country
By Tom Skibinski Colorado Springs, CO (August 19, 2004) Over the past three decades the World of Outlaws organization has gained a reputation for assembling a cast of the most talented drivers and taking its traveling show around the country to challenge the best in local arenas.
Today, under the guidance of a new administration, World of Outlaws, Inc. continues to lay claim to the best sprint car and late model race teams in the nation and the 'local vs. outlaw' philosophy remains intact through inclusion of a truly open tire rule.
"Whether it be Late Models or Sprint Cars the whole World of Outlaws concept is based on our best taking on the best from around the country on their home turf," said Bobby Hartslief, World of Outlaws, Inc. Chief Operating Officer. "And a completely open tire rule is essential to maintain competition on a level playing field for everyone."
With modern-day tire wars heating up along many existing race circuits, officials governing both the World of Outlaws Sprint Series and World of Outlaws Late Model Series are focused on presenting fans with the most exciting wheel-to-wheel racing on dirt and preserving the outlaw image that has made many of the drivers instant heroes.
"We're not in the business of making money from tire deals, nor their distribution," Hartslief added. "Our primary goal is to offer race fans the best entertainment for their dollar whenever the Outlaws come to town. The paying customers will be the final judge of value and they will be the only ones to deal with and whose opinion we take into consideration."
