BARTLESVILLE, OK (September 18) -- Two-time O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series champion Mark Kinser will drive the #66 Trop Artic Maxim Eagle in October, team owner Court Grandstaff announced Thursday.
"Mark is going to drive for me at Delta Bowl Speedway, Lone Star Speedway and Houston Raceway Park," Grandstaff said. "This is just a four-race deal. Brooke Tatnell, my regular driver, is going home to Australia to take care of some business. Brooke will race for me at Eagle Raceway and Texas Motor Speedway before he leaves."
Kinser, who won O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series championships in 1996 and 1999, hasn't raced since the Ford Dealers of Iowa Knoxville Nationals. His father, Karl Kinser, underwent an emergency appendectomy August 16th at Knoxville Area Community Hospital and returned home to Oolitic, IN, a week later to recover.
"Mark has plenty of experience and he's proven himself to be a very good driver, so we're looking forward to him racing for us," Grandstaff said.
Kinser, who won the May 17th main event at Hagerstown Speedway, ranks 11th in the O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series point standings.
Tatnell became the first Australian to win an O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series "A" Feature when he pulled off a daring, last-lap pass of Sammy Swindell to win the Inaugural Track of Dreams Nationals August 18th at the Jetmore Motorplex.
