Pat Hart Passes Away; Shane Stewart to skip Manzanita

From mIn Motorsports Management, OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (February 19, 2004) -- Due to the unexpected death of Pat Hart, mother of team crew chief Rob Hart, Shane Stewart and the No. 4m Sprint Car team will not be in competition at this weekend's World of Outlaws season opener at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, AZ.

"While we are both disappointed, Shane and I agree that nothing is more important than for Rob to be with his family this weekend," stated car owner Scott Chilcutt.

After recently returning to her Albany, NY, home from her 60th consecutive Florida Speedweeks, Pat fell unexpectedly ill and passed away on Wednesday, February 18. Pat is survived by husband Bob and children Mitzi, Rick, Rob and Misti. The matriarch of a bona fide family of racers, Pat, her husband, both sons and one daughter all drove racecars.

Details regarding services for Pat Hart are still pending at this time.

Shane and the No. 4m Sprint Car team will rejoin WoO action on February 28 at Perris (CA) Auto Speedway. Shane, along with crew team Rob Hart and Cathy Barrows, will compete on the early portion of the WoO trail before taking part in the first ever Sprint Bandits event at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, on March 19-20.
