Steve Francis wins Commonwealth Cup, finishes 2nd in Bluegrass Nationals

(Ashland, KY) Steve Francis scored his 7th win of the 2004 season on October 24 when the Kentucky hot shoe made a last lap past to take the checkered flag at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway for the Commonwealth Cup. Steve also won this event in 1999.

"I am real excited to get this win in front of the home state crowd and also in Valvoline's home state," commented Steve. "This win means a lot to our team, and we are just proud to give Mopar and Valvoline another win in dirt late model racing."

Francis' win came after the Mopar and Valvoline driver finished 2nd on October 22 at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway for the Bluegrass Nationals.

The Kentucky Colonel now sets his sights on this weekend's World of Outlaws Late Model Series season ending duel events at Delta Bowl Speedway in Tunica, MS. Steve is just three points out of first place in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series Championship point standings.

Steve Francis Motorsports would like to announce that Steve will be a member of Team USA this season as the 1999 World 100 champion will travel to Australia this December to compete in dirt competition against the best drivers in Australia. This will be Francis' third time as a member of Team USA. Further details and schedule information will be announced in the coming weeks at www.stevefrancisracing.com

Steve's last event of the 2004 season on American soil will be the National 100 at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL, November 5-7.
