HAMM America Drops Sponsorship of Tony Stewart Motorsports Team.
Danny Lasoski World of Outlaw team moves forward looking for more sponsorship.
CONCORD, NC (May 9, 2002) -- Tony Stewart Motorsports and World of Outlaws driver Danny "The Dude" Lasoski have announced that HAMM America Compactors has left the team as one of its associate sponsors. The team said the split was cordial and they are currently looking for more associate sponsors to come onboard for the remainder of the 2002 season and beyond.
"We really appreciate all that HAMM America has done for us as a team and the relationships we were able to build with them," said Lasoski, who is second in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws point standings. "We were very fortunate to have such a quality company associated with this Tony Stewart Motorsports / J.D. Byrider number 20 team. I sincerely hope that our paths will cross again sometime down the line. Times are tough right now, but the economy is bouncing back and our team is a heck of a way to put any company in the limelight-- especially with TV coming back to the Pennzoil World of Outlaws."
Lasoski has continued to be one of the top stars on the World of Outlaw series. He had a career year in 2001! "The Dude" captured his first WoO Championship with help from NASCAR superstar Tony Stewart, who owns Lasoski's Dover, MO-based operation. The championship even earned Lasoski an invite to the 2002 International Race of Champions (IROC) Series, only the second sprint car driver to represent the WoO Series in IROC.
The 2002 season has shown continued success, with a second-place position in the points and a series leading four "A-feature" event wins. The team has also been fast qualifier on five occasions, more than any other series superstar. In 16 races, the team has 12 top-five finishes, 14 top-10 finishes and has won just over $100,000.
"We will move forward from this point and continue our push to be the best World of Outlaw team on the circuit," added Lasoski. "Hopefully our performances will bring more companies onboard and they will be excited to be involved with such a great team and classy organization. This is the best series on dirt and some of the best racing in all of motorsports. Only a handful of series have the fan loyalty that we do."
Fans can catch the World of Outlaws in action this weekend; on Friday at State Fair Motor Speedway (Sedalia) and then on Saturday at Tri-City Speedway in Illinois. Follow the action via the internet radio at www.sprintcarnet.com and look for results at www.dannylasoski.com
