Las Vegas -- Steve Kinser isn't satisfied with 17 national championships. The King of the Outlaws is ready to get started in his quest for an 18th title, and he figures Las Vegas is a great spot to begin his pursuit. Kinser and his Quaker State-sponsored sprint car will join the rest of the O'Reilly World of Outlaws field at the half-mile dirt oval at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the J.D. Byrider Las Vegas Outlaw Nationals on Feb. 28 and March 1.

"We're looking forward to the season starting again," said Kinser. "We ran really good at Las Vegas at the end of the year last year, so we want to go out there and get started again like we finished. We've always run well in Las Vegas. I hope we can run as strong as we did last year. Our goal is to defend our championship. I'd like to be in the same position were in last year when we return to Las Vegas at the end of the season."

Kinser capped off his 17th championship season a year ago by winning the season finale at LVMS. Kinser will join fellow O'Reilly World of Outlaw stars Danny Lasoski, Craig Dollansky, Mark Kinser and many others as they take their spot in the biggest sports weekend in Nevada. The weekend includes the KB Home Showdown Presented by the Southern Nevada Dodge Dealers on Feb. 27 at the Bullring, the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race March 2 and the Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Busch Series race March 1.

Spectator gates open at 5 p.m., with qualifying at 6, heat races at 7 and A-Main at 9:30. For ticket information, call 800-644-4444 or visit www.lvms.com.
