LAS VEGAS--Fans will be treated to a rare event as dirt Late Models will join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in a combined event at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway March 9-10. This event will coincide with the annual NASCAR Weekend at LVMS.

Dirt Late Model teams from across the nation, including California, Arizona, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Nebraska and Colorado will be coming in for the event.

Dirt Late Model driver John Anderson, who will be making the trip from Nebraska, says that fans should expect to see some exciting racing in this independent, non-sanctioned event.

"The fans are going to see a lot of good competition and lot of good equipment," said Anderson. "Its not a hobby, 'back country' race by any means. There are some good teams and racers in this sport. For us, it's a chance to get a little more time to start the season. It's a big venue and (LVMS) is a nice place. It also helps that a lot of people are down for the (NASCAR) weekend."

Each evening's racing program will consist of qualifying races and a $3,000 to-win, 30-lap feature for the dirt Late Models.

Tickets for the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and dirt Late Model doubleheader may be purchased by calling (800) 644-4444 or online at www.LVMS.com. Dirt Late Model racer entry information is available by calling the speedway office at (702) 632-8213.
