"Crowd Pleased" at the Knoxville Nationals

The 44th Annual Knoxville Nationals presented by Midwest Ford Dealers was steeped in drama and excitement. Karavan Dollansky came into the excitement over the weekend in more ways than one.

Debuting the # 7 Hawaiian Tropic / VMAC / Karavan Trailers Maxim, Craig Dollansky put on a show the first night of the Nationals on Wednesday with a quick lap of 13.359. The Hawaiian Tropic 7 then went on to compete and run second in the B Main and eleventh (from the back) in the A Main feature. After the first night of racing, Dollansky was third in qualifying points with 365.

The main event on Saturday was also a success for the Karavan Dollansky team. Starting on the outside of the fifth row (tenth), the Hawaiian Tropic / VMAC / Karavan Trailers Maxim charged on the outside groove to the front within a handful of laps. Dollansky came to the finish line in sixth place in front of a capacity crowd at Knoxville.

The Miss Hawaiian Tropic girls made a splash on the car and on the grounds. Each day the lovely ladies with Craig Dollansky took pictures with fans, signed autographs, and enjoyed the racing action. The special edition Hawaiian Tropic car was voted "Best Appearing" by the media. Heather Bryant, Brooke Paller, and Bonnie Conte and Dollansky made an impression on the fans that will not be forgotten.
