OPEN JOIST® Promotes Speed and Strength, Teams Up with Kasey Kahne Racing, Dodge Motorsports

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 20, 2007 -- NASCAR superstar Kasey Kahne and Dodge Motorsports today announced that they have teamed up with Universal Forest Products under that international company's first major motorsports initiative to promote one of its products. Universal's Open Joist® floor joist system will serve as the primary sponsor on Kasey Kahne Racing's (KKR) No. 9 World of Outlaw Series (WOO) team.

In addition, Open Joist will be a major sponsor on the No. 79 and No. 99 United States Auto Club (USAC) Midget Car and Sprint Car Teams, as well as a co-primary sponsor on Bobby Hamilton Racing's No. 4 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Team.

Open Joist is an open-web, all-wood floor joist system that's known for its strength, endurance, and smart design.

"We are delighted today," said Mike Delahanty, Senior Manager of Dodge Motorsports, "that Open Joist has agreed to sponsor our factory-supported, short track racing program and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Teams to mutually accomplish our objectives."

"We're excited about the opportunity to work with Kasey Kahne, KKR, and Dodge Motorsports. We believe this partnership will be key to maximizing our brand recognition and building our sales," says Brian Ellenberger, Vice President of Operations for Open Joist. "Kasey's family comes from the wood products industry, so he's a natural fit for our goals, our customers, our employees, and our messaging. In addition, Dodge is about superior engineering and reliability, and we are pleased to showcase our product with their superior vehicles."

In 2007, KKR was selected as the Mopar and Dodge factory-supported team in both the USAC and WOO Series. A key initiative of the Mopar/Dodge short track program is to work with Dodge's flagship NASCAR teams to develop the talents and build the careers of the next generation of Dodge racing superstars. Kevin Swindell and Brady Bacon, two of Dodge's top emerging drivers (each competing for USAC Championships for KKR in 2007), are development drivers for Evernham Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, respectively.

"With the support I have received from Mopar and the Dodge brands and now from Open Joist and Universal Forest Products, we certainly have the resources to win championships," says Kahne. "It will be my job as team owner to ensure speed does, in fact, meet strength as we showcase Open Joist's superior product in winning both the World of Outlaws Series and USAC Series Championships this year."

"Finding a company willing to support my passion in grassroots racing, as well as assisting Dodge and Mopar and our other key partners in our efforts to build the careers of the next great Dodge drivers, has been a blessing. On behalf of Kasey Kahne Racing, I want to welcome Universal Forest Products to our family. We look forward to building a long and successful relationship," adds Kahne, the 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Rookie of the year and former USAC champion.
