Henderson has bumpy ride in opening weekend with the Outlaws!
(2-10-2006 Barberville, FL) When Justin Henderson joined the World of Outlaws this year as a member of the Mean 15 he knew it was going to be the ride of a lifetime. Last night proved to be one of those rides. On the opening lap of the "A" feature Henderson found the #8 of Brooke Tatnell on top of the Dan Dan the Sonic Man D-1 Schnee with Hollywood Engines for power. The incident which involved several cars and saw 3 not return to action happened in turn one at the drop of the green flag. After going to the work area the team found a destroyed top wing a bent frame, bent rear end and miscellaneous damage. After doing what they could to salvage it Justin returned to the track for battle. On an extremely fast track the native of Sioux Falls, SD would come home with a 16th place finish and valuable points.
"It was as they say one of those racing deals." Said Henderson. "I really had no where to go and the next thing I see is Brooke's car on top of mine then on it's nose. We never really got to see if the changes we made from the heat would have taken effect. On opening night we tried some things the just did not feel comfortable to me. I know now that I have to just go with what we have used in the past and what works. We had 4 wins last year using those set-ups and we are going to go back to those. It's a long year and the car was not hurt that bad. We will get it back to the shop and get it fixed and go onto Phoenix. Dad is really giving me some great power and we just have to get down to the ground. Once we do that, good things will happen."
