Homestate favorite Hockett to challenge World of Outlaws at Sedalia.

When the O'Reilly's World of Outlaws roll into the State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri this Friday night, April 11, they will be a new face ready to square off against the best in the business. 19-year-old Jesse Hockett will make his first start of the 2003 season in Tom and Asta Vankeirsbilck's #75 410 sprint car.

"I think we can open some eyes against the World of Outlaws with our new Wesmar Engine and Maxim Chassis. I know we have the equipment, and I just cant wait to get this season started and show people what we are about," said Hockett, who hails from Warsaw, Missouri, just 35 miles south of Sedalia. "I love the State Fair Speedway. It's like the place is a part of me. Its where I grew up watching races. I love those big fast half miles."

While Hockett hopes to kick things off in a big way against the O'Reilly's World of Outlaws this weekend, he has a long season full of racing ahead of him and his primary crew member, Daniel McMillan, who is also 19 years old. "After Sedalia, we plan to hit the Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) and US36 (Osborn, Missouri) openers. We also plan to run all the All Star Circuit of Champions and World of Outlaws races in our area this season," Hockett said.
