"HOT FOOT" JASON MEYERS RAINED OUT AGAIN AT HUSET'S AND KNOXVILLE
Knoxville Rescheduled for Next Weekend
CLOVIS, Calif. (April 27, 2008) - Yet another weekend of cold, rainy weather forced track promoters and World of Outlaws (WoO) officials to cancel and reschedule this weekend's events at Huset's Speedway and Knoxville Raceway, forcing Clovis, Calif. driver Jason Meyers to spend another weekend in the sunshine state.
HHAT DOES MOTHER NATURE HAVE AGAINST SPRINT CAR RACING?
With inclement weather and near-freezing temperatures in the area, the event at Huset's Speedway was rained out and the event at Knoxville Raceway, the first trip there in 2008 for the WoO was rescheduled for Saturday, May 3rd.
"It's a disappointment to get rained on so many times this early in the season," said Meyers. "There is no doubt we have been on a roll and we need to keep racing to stay sharp and keep that team chemistry clicking, although I don't doubt that our KPC Chassis and Garrett engines will be going as strong when we hit the track next weekend as they have been thus far."
UP NEXT FOR ELITE RACING:
The Elite Racing Team heads to US 36 Raceway in Cameron, Missouri on Friday, May 2 and the rescheduled Knoxville Raceway event on Saturday, May 3, before racing at Tri-City Speedway and Paducah International Raceway on May 9 and 10.
Sheesh, another two rainouts!! I wonder if I offer to make cookies for Mother Nature if she will start smiling down on us rather than drenching us every weekend? What do you think? I can only handle so much NASCAR, IndyCar and NHRA on TV without actually getting to the track :-)
Anyways, we have some tracks coming up that Jason and the guys have had much success at, so we can't deny that we are looking forward to racing at places like US 36 Raceway and Tri-City Speedway, not to mention Knoxville and Paducah. If you are in attendance at any of our upcoming events, please make sure you stop by the new Elite Racing transporter and have Jason autograph a Hero Card for you or buy yourself a new 2008 Elite Racing shirt or hat!
If you want a chance to golf with Jason, or any of the other Outlaws, let me know and I can get you the forms for the Benevolent Fund Golf Outing. It's a great time and it all goes to a great cause.
We are still making changes to our newsletter, so please continue to send comments and well-wishes in! We love hearing from you.
Thanks for all of your support and we hope to see you at a track soon!
