KILGORE, TX (March 20) -- Defending Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series champion Danny Lasoski will be among the field when Durham Chevrolet/Dodge presents the World of Outlaws Gumout Series at Lone Star Speedway April 4th.

Lasoski will wheel his familiar orange and white J.D. Byrider Eagle sprint car in search of the $5,000 top prize in the opening race Gumout Series' third season. NASCAR Winston Cup star Tony Stewart helped Lasoski form the team before last season, which resulted in a Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series championship.

"What Tony does speaks for itself," Lasoski said. "He's a total team player, he's one of my best friends and we owe him a lot for helping us put this team together. He enabled me to put together a team we wanted. "It's been more than a decade since I raced at Lone Star Speedway. I remember how fast it was. The improvements that have been made should make it a great race."

Lasoski will be challenged at the Lone Star Speedway Gumout opener by 16-time Pennzoil World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser and his son Kraig. Kraig, a third-generation sprint car racer and high school student, set his first World of Outlaws fast qualifying time at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City last weekend. Kraig is expected to compete in the Gumout Series this season.

The Lone Star Speedway Gumout Series race kicks off three nights of premier sprint car racing in north Texas. The Southern Bleacher Classic for the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series will held at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track in Fort Worth, April 5-6. Tickets for the Durham Chevrolet/Dodge presents the World of Outlaws

Gumout Series race are available at all ABC Auto Parts locations in east Texas and Bossier City-Shreveport and at Lone Star Speedway. For more information contact Lone Star Speedway at (903) 986-9731.
