Goodyear drivers impressive in weekend WoO races.

AKRON, Ohio (March 17, 2003) -- Goodyear teams collected their first victory of the O'Reilly World of Outlaws season and grabbed eight top-10 finishes during two races over the weekend of March 14-15. The impressive performances were the best to date for a line of dirt track tires developed and built during the winter.

Donny Schatz captured the first victory of the young season for the tiremaker when he won at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City, Ok. Johnny Herrera finished second in the same race. Schatz and Herrera led most of the race. Jac Haudenschild finished seventh and Mark Kinser was eighth. Both Haudenschild and Kinser raced on Goodyear rubber.

The victory was the first of the season for Schatz.

One night later Herrera finished third in the 30th Annual Spring Nationals at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Texas. Kinser took fifth while Jeff Shepard was eighth and Haudenschild rounded out the top 10.

Haudenschild had Goodyear's last WoO victory when he took consecutive wins Sept. 20 and 21 at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb.
