Boot Hill Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park up Next for World of Outlaws

The World of Outlaws will roll into the Old West on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23 for the Boot Hill Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park. The event on Saturday will be the second race of the "SuperClean Summer of Money" which is broadcast on ESPN2 for eight consecutive Sunday's.

Joey Saldana led 19 laps last season en route to winning the Boot Hill Showdown. The native of Brownsburg, Indiana currently has seven A-Feature wins on the season and is second in championship points. He has recorded 26 Top-10 finishes entering action on June 20. Last season at Dodge City, the 1996 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year began the night by turning the third fastest lap in time trails. This season he leads the series with six fast time honors to his credit.

Donny Schatz, the reigning World of Outlaws champion finished third at Dodge City last season. He currently leads the standings heading into the three events this week, on the strength of seven A-Feature wins. In the first 32 events of the season, he has 29 Top-10 finishes. He began the week with a 58 point lead over Saldana in the standings.

Danny Lasoski swept the World of Outlaws event at Dodge City in 2005. He won the preliminary night and went on to win the $10,000 A-Feature as well. He earned his third win of the season last week at Tri-City Speedway in Illinois and followed it up with a four-place run at his home track, Knoxville Raceway. The 2001 series champion began the week third in points with 24 Top-10 finishes.

Daryn Pittman finished fourth at Dodge City last season, after winning the Crane Cams Dash to earn the pole position. The native of Owasso, Oklahoma is solidly in the Top-Five in World of Outlaws championship points entering this week, on the strength of two A-Feature wins. He also has 22 Top-10 finishes in the first 32 events of the season.

Jason Meyers finished fourth last season in the first of two events he competed in at Dodge City. The native of Clovis, California has two wins this season, with one of those coming on a 3/8-mile track at U.S. 36 Raceway in Missouri. He entered the week fifth in points with 22 Top-10 finishes, including seven in-a-row.

Steve Kinser won at Dodge City in 2004, when the series made their first visit to the state-of-the-art facility. The 20-time series champion has six A-Feature wins this season, including two on 3/8-mile tracks. He was sixth in points heading into action on June 20, with 19 Top-10 finishes on the season.

Craig Dollansky earned his 20th Top-10 finishes of the season on June 16 at Knoxville Raceway as he finished third. The native of Elk River, Minnesota is seventh in points and has one A-Feature win to his credit this season.

Paul McMahan finished in the Top-10 twice last season in a pair of events at Dodge City. He won his first race of 2007 on June 3 at Eldora Speedway in Ohio, which is also owned by his car owner, two-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart. McMahan is solidly in the Top-10 in points with 15 Top-10 finishes.

Jason Solwold finished in the Top-Five in both events he competed in at Dodge City last season. The native of Mt. Vernon, Washington has 17 Top-10 finishes this season and is solidly in the Top-10 in points, as he closes in on his first A-Feature win with the World of Outlaws.

Jac Haudenschild finished in the Top-10 at Dodge City last season. The native of Wooster, Ohio has 13 Top-10 finishes on the season as he continues to close in on his first win of the season. He finished a season-best second at Eagle Raceway in Nebraska on June 9.

Tim Shaffer won at Dodge City last season. The 1999 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year earned his 14th Top-10 finish of the season last Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway. He has eight Top-Five finishes including three runner-up performances as he too closes in on his first win of the season.

Terry McCarl won his first event of the season last Saturday night at his home track of Knoxville Raceway. He followed that up with another victory the following night in weekly competition at Huset's Speedway in South Dakota. He has 14 Top-10 finishes on the season and set fast time at Dodge City last season, before finishing sixth in the A-Feature.

Jason Sides finished in the Top-10 in both events he took part in at Dodge City last season. The native of Bartlett, Tennessee and 2003 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year has 11 Top-10 finishes on the season. He won his first Crane Cams Dash of the season last week at Tri-City Speedway in Illinois and led a number of laps before suffering a flat tire while leading.

Randy Hannagan picked up a season-best second-place finish at Knoxville Raceway last week. The native of San Jose who now calls Pittsboro, Indiana home won the Crane Cams Dash to earn the pole position and led the first 18 laps of the event. He won a heat race at Dodge City last season.

Kerry Madsen, the leader in the battle for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year will make his first trip to Dodge City Raceway Park this weekend. The native of St. Mary's, NSW, Australia won on the second night of the season at Volusia Speedway Park in the Florida DIRTcar Nationals.

Justin Henderson finished fifth last season at Dodge City, in the home state of his car owner Dan Oswalt. Henderson picked up his seventh Top-10 finish of the season last week at Knoxville Raceway.

Chad Kemenah, the reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, finished ninth at Dodge City last season. He has six Top-10 finishes this season, including a season-best third-place finish at Paducah International Raceway earlier this season.

Jeremy Campbell finished seventh last season at Dodge City. The second-year driver from Michigan is currently in the Top-20 in World of Outlaws championship points with three Top-10 finishes.

Chad Hillier who is currently second in the rookie points will make his first trip to Dodge City this weekend. The native of Burlington, Washington is in the Top-20 in points entering action on June 20.

Zach Chappell, another of the rookie contenders rounds out the Top-20 in points. He earned his second career fast time honor with the World of Outlaws last week in his first visit to Tri-City Speedway in Illinois. The native of Talala, Oklahoma is a former American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) National Champion.

Also in action will be Tony Bruce Jr. and Jason Martin, who both hail from Liberal, Kansas, which is only 83 miles from the track.

Veteran Dion Hindi of New Mexico who won a heat race at Dodge City last season will also be in attendance, as well as Australian Brooke Tatnell who led 11 laps at the track last season and finished second. Brian Carlson will also make the trip to Dodge City, as he recently returned after missing a month of action due to a leg injury. Also in action will be rookie Sam Hafertepe Jr. of Texas.

The second night of action from the Boot Hill Showdown will be part of the "SuperClean Summer of Money" to be broadcast on ESPN2 on Sunday, June 24 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern, 11:30 a.m. Central.
