NEW EGYPT, NJ (July 28) -- The O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series will sanction its annual sprint car racing event at New Egypt Speedway tonight, then run two regularly scheduled events and complete two others this week.

From New Egypt's D-shaped, ½-mile tri-oval, the fire-breathing, mudslinging sprint cars will return to Sharon Speedway Wednesday to run a full $51,600 event and complete the May 30th "A" Feature. Then it's on to Chillicothe, OH, for the series' inaugural race at K-C Raceway Thursday and back to The Raceway @ Powercom Park Sunday to run the event originally scheduled for July 9th.

P.J. Chesson thrilled his hometown fans with a flag-to-flag victory at New Egypt Speedway last July 29th. The 24-year-old racer from Far Hills, NJ, beat Daryn Pittman under the checkered flag by 1.8 seconds.

Dale Blaney, whose family runs Sharon Speedway, was leading the May 30th race when rain hit the semi-banked, 3/8-mile oval seven laps into the main event. The 1998 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year started outside the front row and raced around pole-sitter Rob Chaney in the high groove between turns three and four late in the third lap.

Joey Saldana passed Shane Stewart in dense lapped traffic deep in the third corner late in the 22nd lap on his way to claiming the $10,000 first prize with five car-lengths to spare when the O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series invaded The Raceway @ Powercom Park April 22nd. WoO
