John Mickle Racing has announced intentions to return to the World of Outlaws Gum-Out Series in 2001.

Bob Bennett of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania will again be behind the wheel of the John Mickle Racing entry, a familiar seat for the second year starter on the Gum-Out Series tour.

Bennett and Mickle tackled the Gum-Out Series tour during the year 2000, earning a top ten finish in the season points chase. Both Bennett and Mickle look to improve their point standings at the conclusion of the 2001 Gum-Out Series tour with consistency, and have been busy in the off-season preparing for that goal.

"We were real happy with our 9th place finish last year in the points standings, but we feel we could have been better," said Bennett. "Now that we've been out on the road we've seen some of our shortcomings. This year we have three cars together to start the season, where we only had two cars last year at this time. We weren't consistent enough last season, and everything we have tried to do this off-season, we've tried to do to alleviate that problem."

Bennett and the Mickle's Acme Trailer Works JMR Sprint Car team plan to include a few early season Central Pennsylvania races before the first 2001 World of Outlaws Gum-Out Series event at Lernerville Speedway on April 20th.
