It is the best qualifying result for the team and a big success after having missed a start from the first place at the round in Spa by just four hundredths of a second.

Thomas Holzer in car #31 will start into tomorrow’s race from sixth position, which is the best qualifying result for the German driver.

After a very positive day, Lotus is now concentrating on the race and hoping to end the season on a high note. The season final of the FIA Word Endurance Championship will start tomorrow at 11:00 hours local time.

Thomas Holzer, Race driver #31: “I am quite happy about the outcome of today’s qualifying. Sixth position is the best result of the season and the gap to the cars is not so big. It is very close in LMP2 class and maybe we could have done a bit better.

But nevertheless, the car is running well and I am looking forward to racing tomorrow. I hope that we will have a good race at the end of the season.”

James Rossiter, Race driver #32: “I am unbelievable happy to be on Pole Position! We have worked very hard for this and it is great that the hard work has paid off. At my first race in Spa, I missed Pole Position by just four hundredths of a second.

This time, we managed to be in front of our competitors, which is an amazing feeling. I am quite confident for tomorrow because the car is running well. We will now focus on the race and we hope to have a good result.”
