The first free practice session at Spa for this weekend's second round of the World Endurance Championship was stopped after an accident involving Kazuki Nakajima and Oliver Jarvis.
The incident happened on the approach to the Les Combes section of the track, with Nakajima's Toyota coming to rest in the run-off with a heavily damaged front end to the car.
Nakajima was extricated from the car conscious and taken to the circuit medical centre for precautionary checks, but Motorsport.com understands he has escaped injury.
Jarvis emerged from the incident of his own volition.
It is believed that Nakajima hit the back of Jarvis after overtaking an LMP2 car on the Kemmel straight, which follows the Eau Rouge/Raidillon section of track, in thick spray.
