Conway to test new Toyota prototype and continue IndyCar Series engagement.
Toyota Racing has signed LMP2 class star Mike Conway as test and reserve driver for the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The 30-year-old Brit will support confirmed 2014 drivers Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre, Kazuki Nakajima, Anthony Davidson, Sébastien Buemi and Stéphane Sarrazin.
Conway will work on the new LMP1 car's development program, with testing to start in January.
“I am delighted to be joining TOYOTA Racing as test and reserve driver for 2014, a role which will fit well with my IndyCar programme," said Conway. "It is every driver’s ambition to be involved with a manufacturer-backed team at the top level of international motorsport and that’s what TOYOTA Racing is."
The IndyCar Series driver had an impressive World Endurance Championship season this year with three class wins with the G-Drive Oreca team and a good run at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
