Three teams are testing the new 2015 spec Dunlop LMP2 tyres at the Motorland Aragon circuit in north eastern Spain this week.
SARD-Morand, Greaves Motorsport, G-Drive Racing and Jota Sport have all been in action during the last few days.
Greaves and Jota have been running the new Gibson 015S aerodynamic developments in conjunction with the tyres testing.
Jota Sport, who is set to name Simon Dolan and Filipe Albuquerque’s ELMS team mate early next month, had Filip Albuquerque on hand today to further asses the new-look 2015 bodywork.
Greaves Motorsport is set to try a variety of drivers over the test, including Robbie Kerr and Abdulaziz Al Faisal, who both got mileage in the Gibson-Nissan today. Kerr, who finished second in an LMP2 Zytek at Le Mans back in 2007, has been without a regular drive since he raced for the Delta-ADR team in the 2013 FIA WEC.
Alex Rossi to drive or not?
It was unclear whether or not US racer Alexander Rossi will be part of Greaves Motorsport’s plans this season. Motorsport.com has learned recently that both parties were close to a deal earlier this month, for at least the Le Mans 24 Hours, but negotiations are believed to have cooled in recent weeks.
G-Drive Racing took the chance to give new recruits Pipo Derani, Sam Bird and Gustavo Yacaman some mileage in one of their Ligier JS3 chassis over the weekend. Roman Rusinov was also driving for the team which will race two Ligier-Nissan entries in the full FIA WEC this year.
Testing continues tomorrow.
