G-Drive crashes, giving way for SMP to potentially take LMP2 title

While leading the race, G-Drive has crashed out of the race!

Major news coming out of Sao Paulo just seconds past the one hour mark. A full-course yellow hangs over the circuit, prompted by a major accident at the first corner. The car sitting in the tire barriers, front end severely damaged was none other than the No. 26 G-Drive Racing entry.

Olivier Pla held a two second advantage over KCMG and was holding a steady wheel until the car suddenly went out from under him, crashing nose-first into the barrier. 

Roman Rusinov told reporters that he believes a right front brake failure caused the accident, which can be seen below

Going into this race, Pla/Rusinov/Canal led the LMP2 driver standings with an eight point gap over Sergey Zlobin. The SMP entry they fight for title honors currently runs third in class.
