A Ligier JS P2-Nissan for G-Drive Racing

After a 3-month pause in the FIA World Endurance Championship G-Drive Racing will arrive in Austin with a single aim – victory! Roman Rusinov, Olivier Pla and Julien Canal won the first two races of the season in their Morgan-Nissan LM P2. The trio will compete in the fourth round of the FIA WEC in a Ligier JS P2-Nissan and they are determined to get back in the winner’s circle.

G-Drive Racing dominated both opening rounds of the season at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps bagging a maximum number of points. Unfortunately, the team had to retire in the Le Mans 24 Hours when the no. 26 Morgan-Nissan LM P2 was involved in a collision with another car with the result that it lost the lead in the LM P2 category.

We’re determined to pull back the points we lost at Le Mans.

The long summer break is coming to an end and the squad is more motivated than ever to get back out on the track and set about conquering the FIA LM P2 Endurance Trophy, the world title in the category. To stack all the odds in its favour the Russian team continues to put its trust in the constructor Onroak Automotive, and it will enter a Ligier JS P2 powered by the Nissan engine for the Circuit of Americas 6 Hours. The new Onroak Automotive closed sports prototype is G-Drive Racing’s new weapon to achieve fresh success in the title chase.

Rusinov, Canal, and Pla who was heavily involved in its development, are delighted with their new car and they are ready to do battle with their rivals. A perfectly-honed trio, motivation at an all-time high and excellent adaptation to driving this new sports prototype are the keys to more victories for G-Drive Racing.

Roman Rusinov: “I’m very happy to start racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship again, in particular with our new car, the Ligier JS P2. We’re ready to take up this new challenge and after Le Mans we’re stronger and more motivated than ever to recapture the lead in LM P2!”

Olivier Pla: “After the long break in the WEC I can’t wait to be in Austin on this very quick and technical circuit. We’re determined to pull back the points we lost at Le Mans. It will also mark our debut with the new Ligier JS P2 so the aim is simple – victory!”

Julien Canal: “After the long summer break I’m impatient to get back behind the wheel again, especially in the new Ligier JS P2. We lost the lead in the WEC LM P2 classification after the Le Mans 24 Hours so our aim’s to get back in front and score the maximum number of points in the next five races.”
