Watkins Glen, NY (April 27, 2000) - Watkins Glen International announced today that the track will be offering free camping for the June 2-4 Watkins Glen Historic Races with the purchase of two adult admissions on or before May 13. Painted Post Car Mart, a sales and service center for new and used RV's, campers and horsetrailers based in Painted Post, New York, has been named the Official Sponsor of Family Camping for the Watkins Glen Historic Races presented by Chemung Canal Trust Company. "Partnering with Painted Post Car Mart, one of the Southern Tier's leading RV dealers, has allowed Watkins Glen to offer this tremendous value to our guests," said Roger Curtis, General Manager of Marketing & Sales for Watkins Glen. "Painted Post Car Mart is another example of a leading local company getting involved with Watkins Glen and the fans getting a better value." The Historic Races in June mark the first weekend of spectator racing at the 3.377-mile historic road course. Ferrari is the featured marque for the weekend and fans attending the season-opening event will witness one of the largest gathering of Ferraris and Ferrari enthusiasts in North America. Tickets for all events on the 2000 schedule can be purchased at a discount on or before Saturday, May 13, which is the advance purchase deadline. Watkins Glen's ticket office will be open on May 13 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to stop by the ticket office and then visit the Opening Day celebration at the track. Visitors on Opening Day will have the opportunity to participate in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk and take laps on the legendary track in their own personal vehicles.
